BASIC FUNCTIONResponsible in creating design solutions that have a high visual impact. The role involves listening to clients and understanding their needs before making design decisions.PRINCIPAL FUNTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIESGRAPHIC ARTISTMeet with bosses to discuss the business objectives and requirements of the job.Develop the business needs and developing a concept to suit their purpose.Estimate the time required to complete the work.Develop design briefs by gathering information and data through research.Think creatively to produce new ideas and concepts.Use innovation to redefine a design brief within the constraints of cost and time.Present finalized ideas and concepts.Work with a wide range of media, including photograph, Photoshop, Illustrator, Sketch up, and computer-aided design (CAD).Proofreads to produce accurate and high-quality work.Contribute ideas and design artwork to the overall brief.Demonstrate illustrative skills with rough sketches.Work on layouts and art working pages ready for print.Develop interactive design.Work as part of a team with printers, copywriters, photographers, stylists, illustrators, other designers, account executives and marketing specialists.VISUAL MERCHANDISERConduct research on current and future trends in design for Canadian and associated target market features.Design window display based on a theme, style or trend of promotion.Identify and source props and also maintains a budget at the same time negotiates with suppliers of visual materials.Visit branches to coach in-store visual merchandising or sales teams to interpret the guidelines and training them in the execution of the visual concept;Assemble or dismantle visual displays in windows or in-store
